Silence the Tasks and Drink a Moment of Life

Colorful Drinks of Joy

by Rifaq Rasheed

For all my ROWing friends, I’ve placed a blog hop at the end of this post to make it easy for you to find and encourage a fellow ROWer.

My fourth grandson will be delivered Wednesday. From day to day  I get caught up in lists, deadlines, projects, meals to cook, errands to run and on and on. But when a special day comes like a wedding, birthday, or the new arrival of a baby I pause from the mundane. It’s as if a bright light shines on the moment at hand and my heart overflows with happiness. The lists, meals, and errands are for the good of the family so I don’t begrudge the tasks but this week I am so grateful to silence these things and embrace the joy of our new grandson, Greyson Flanders.

How do you silence tasks and drink in a moment of life?

Leave me a comment. I love hearing from you.

  1. So how are you liking Hooked? I’m reading it too. :)

  2. I’ll start it this afternoon or while I’m in Tyler. I heard about it from Kristen. Where did you hear about it?

  3. Ali, congrats on the latest addition to your family, and let’s see – I’ve discovered that taking care of something, or someone else (in my case this week, a litter of abandoned kittens) can take you out of the “task” mentality and focus you on the moment…

Re: Your Goals, I think the idea of using a timer to regulate your blogging (and or other social media) is a great idea, and I may have to adopt it as I develop my social networking goals… And I like how you’ve appended the blog list for ROW80 – I will have to try to do that for next week’s post.

Have a great week, and best wishes,
    Edward

  4. Congrats on the new grandchild! That’s definitely the kind of thing we need to put aside the everyday to-do’s for. Enjoy your time with him and get back to the list when you return home.

    • Jennette, thanks for the push toward what is good and right in this world. The list will be here when I get back. Wish my daughter and her family would be too. I miss them living close by so much.

  5. Congrats on the new grand baby! Hope everything goes well, and you’re able to continue with your goals.

    • Thanks. The goals will of course be secondary. I’ve lightened my load for that reason. Hope you are doing well with yours.
