You’ll find topics on:

A desire to help our children learn to communicate in ways that draw others toward them, offering them more opportunities to share the gospel is the theme you will see running through my posts. Sometimes I share how we do this by reading good literature and discussing it. Our family has enjoyed this approach for years. We also open up our home to a larger group of friends and call it a literature club. Literature club provides us with tools and opportunities for our children to practice techniques that will lead them to a greater understanding about how to love others through skillful communication that is respectful and effective. A bonus is that the kids read really great classical literature. In this way, their reading comprehension and critical reading skills mature, advancing their ability to have meaningful conversations. Visit these pages to read a more detailed description about literature club and to see how much fun we have. We use a handbook called The LITClub, Transforming Reading Into An Experience as a guide for our literature club.

    • Ginny Marie, I would love to have a conversation with you. Literature club is soooo much fun with 6-9 year olds. I have had clubs in my home for children that age all the way up to high school. Actually the club began with high schoolers and branched out to reach the siblings of those kids. I wasn’t sure how it would go. My apprehensions were quickly put at ease. If you want some ideas just send me a message on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/AliDentAuthor
