This book was the first title read during Conversations in 20th Century Literature. Seven to twelve year olds read the book, discussed it and prepared projects in which they researched a country, prepared a hot air balloon that looked like their country of choice. Below is a video of the children presenting their projects at our Literature Club meeting.
For several of the children this was their first time to present a project in public. I believe they did a marvelous job with their creations and presentations to us. If you have trouble hearing everything they are saying, consider the video camera is a home version with less than adequate sound pick up and the fact that these precious children are just beginning their public speaking careers.
